With its medieval castle ruins and wild and romantic vineyards, the Wachau region is one of the most impressive landscapes at the heart of Austria.
This section of the Danube, stretching along 36 kilometres, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site of "extraordinary and universal value".
The Benedictine abbey in Melk is one of Europe's most beautiful integrated baroque ensembles. Exciting museum rooms, magnificent ceremonial rooms such as the marble hall or the library, an unforgettable view of the Danube valley and the high baroque abbey church await the curious visitors. From May through October, the abbey's park invites you to relax and enjoy the scenery. The panoramic terrace on the northern bastion offers expansive views of the park grounds, the abbey buildings and the surrounding landscape.
Shift your perspective. Because only aboard a ship you can truly experience the entirety of the Wachau.
