Train. Boat. Melk Benedictine Abbey
With its medieval castle ruins and wild and romantic vineyards, the Wachau region is one of the most impressive landscapes at the heart of Austria.
This section of the Danube, stretching along 36 kilometres, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site of "extraordinary and universal value".

MELK ABBEY
The Benedictine abbey in Melk is one of Europe's most beautiful integrated baroque ensembles. Visitors see interesting museum rooms, the Marble hall, the library, an unforgettable view of the Danube valley and the abbey church. Between May and October, the abbey park invites guests to linger. From the Northern
Bastion´s panoramic terrace visitors can enjoy views of the abbey park, the abbey buildings and the town of Melk.

Shift your perspective. Because only aboard a ship you can truly experience the entirety of the Wachau.
During the leisurely cruise, you can sit back and enjoy the view of the natural and cultural beauty along both shores. Relax, while you travel through the World Heritage Site aboard one of the boats operated by BRANDNER Schiffahrt or DDSG Blue Danube.
