Hiking

The region offers gentle grassy mountains, wide valleys and high mountain peaks. So there is something for everyone, from the pleasure holidaymaker to the adrenaline junkie. A hiking network of over 700 km in the Kitzbühel Alps offers a wide range of different tours and routes. The panoramic view from the scenic mountain Hohe Salve at 1,829 m is truly breathtaking. The vista of over 70 three-thousand-metre peaks, the Kaiser mountain range, the Hohe Tauern and the Großglockner will thrill any mountaineer's heart. The highlight up there is the Salvenkirchlein, the highest pilgrimage church in Austria, which you can also reach quite comfortably with the Salvenbahn gondola lift from Hopfgarten. The new mountain lake on the "Kleine Salve" is the ideal starting point for the high-altitude circular trail and at the same time invites you to linger on the lakeshore. Pristine nature can be found in the Kelchsau, a side valley of the Brixental. This natural jewel was voted the most beautiful place in Tyrol in 2020. Traditional alpine farms, massive mountain peaks and rustic farmhouses characterise this valley with the village centre of the same name.

Cycling

Cyclists, look out! On 800 km of perfectly signposted routes, you are always firmly in the saddle in the Kitzbühel Alps. Pleasure cyclists, mountain and touring bikers, downhillers and e-bikers will all get their money's worth. The Kitzbühel Alps were the first region in Austria to be awarded the "approved bike area" seal of approval by mountainbike holidays for its great infrastructure - discover the Region Hohe Salve with its most beautiful routes.
Since 2013, the Region Hohe Salve has also been able to present itself as the first e-racing bike region in the world.
