Hiking tips

The network of hiking trails in St. Anton am Arlberg is over 400 kilometers long and offers holidaymakers access to the Tyrolean Alps for long walks in the healing mountain air. Well-marked trails of varying length and difficulty lure you into the nature of the Verwall Group and Lechtal Alps. The Arlberg cable cars help you reach the summit faster: they transport holidaymakers up to Rendl, Gampen, Kapall, Galzig and the region's highest peak, the 2,811-metre-high Valluga.

Special highlights of the region are the Alpenrosenweg and the Berggeistweg. Both have been awarded the mountain trail seal of approval by the state of Tyrol for many years.

Fabulous Verwall valley

A particularly attractive hiking and cycling route leads through the Verwalltal recreation area not far from St. Anton's village center. Past meadows, forests, streams and the emerald green Verwallsee lake, the route is flat and easy to negotiate even with baby carriages. The Wagner Hütte is a cozy meeting point along the way. In addition to fun and action in the EldoRADo bike area and the forest ropes course, the valley also offers special places of strength for those seeking peace and quiet.
