Important information:

The Hallstatt Salt Mines are temporarily closed for renovations and the construction of a new funicular railway. This new railway will be the most modern in Europe, offering visitors numerous advantages: greater comfort, faster travel times, and even more impressive views of the stunning UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Hallstatt. The Hallstatt Salt Mines look forward to opening the new funicular in June 2026. Until then, the salt mines remain open to visitors with extended hours at the Salzburg and Altaussee locations.
